According to various reports, the Indian government has decided to allow all mobile operators and telecom equipment suppliers including Huawei to conduct 5G trials. The top 5G telecom suppliers in India are Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, ZTE and Samsung.
This is a significant move as Huawei is facing scrutiny in various markets due to security related issues. As per reports, Ravi Shankar Prasad, minister of telecommunications and information technology said that all companies will be allowed for the 5G trials.
6,050 MHz spectrum
It is also expected that telecoms like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio will also participate in the spectrum auction next year. The government had previously mentioned that 6,050 MHz spectrum will be available for 5G during the spectrum auction. This auction will be conducted in March / April 2020.
