February 2, 2015: India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), the premier body for the ESDM industry in the country, will focus on “Make in India: Vision to Reality” in IESA Vision Summit 2015, the 10th edition of its annual flagship event, starting today.
In the backdrop of India’s invitation to the world to “Make in India”, thought leaders across verticals and geographies will come together on this platform to discuss how India can dominate in the semiconductors and electronics space, in the coming decade. The two day event features a powerful line-up of industry experts, government officials, strategists, policy makers and business leaders, offering their views and visions.
Dr K Radhakrishnan, former chairman, ISRO, who also made India proud with the successful launch of Mangalyaan, said, “I heartily appreciate the IESA team in organising Vision Summit which has emerged as a torch bearer for India’s ESDM sector. Their concerted efforts in bringing all the stake holders across industry, government or academia under one roof has been remarkable over the years. On occasion of 10th anniversary of Vision Summit, M N Vidyashankar, president, IESA said, “It is really commendable the way Union Government and Honorable Prime Minister have strengthened the momentum to build India as a manufacturing nation, having taken several decisions towards “Make in India” program and now it is for the industry to rise to the occasion. We are glad to transform Vision Summit 2015 into a platform to create a stronger voice for ESDM manufacturing in India through proactive involvement of international corporations, government, VCs and start-ups.”
A very high level participation is expected from the Govt. of India and various State Governments. R S Sharma, IAS, secretary, Dept. Of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka, and N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh will grace the occasion with their presence. There will be a big delegation from Andhra Pradesh including J Satyanarayana, advisor, GoAP & former secretary DeitY and Dr P R Reddy, Minister IT, Andhra Pradesh. Other prominent leaders from the government will include principal secretaries from state governments like Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha etc, as well as senior officials responsible for formulation and implementation of ESDM policies.
