Monday, April 07, 2014: The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) has reportedly announced a new list of executive council body members, which is aimed at making its functions more friendly towards the electronics industry. The sector is facing some significant downfall specially with increased gaps in imports and exports in India.
IESA represents the Indian Electronic System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM). The new list is for appointments marked only for the fiscal year 2014-15. As per new appointments, Ashok Chandak (senior director, Global Sales and Marketing at NXP Semiconductors) will be the chairman for 2014-15. He also served as the vice chairman for 2013-14.
The newly elected executive council for IESA 2014-15 is:
Vice chairman: Vinay Shenoy (managing director, Infineon Technologies)
Treasurer: Krishna Moorthy K (MD, Rambus Technologies)
Advisor: Sanjeev Keskar (MD, Sales, PMC-Sierra)
New Executive members are Ganesh Guruswamy (MD, SanDisk India), Jaswinder Ahuja (MD, Cadence Design Systems), Krishna Moorthy K (MD, Rambus Technologies), Kumud Srinivasan (President, Intel India), Santhanakrishnan Raman (MD, LSI India), Satya Gupta (founder and CEO, Concept2Silicon Systems), BV Naidu (chairman and CEO, Sagitaur Ventures India), Rajendra Kumar Khare (chairman and managing Director, SureWaves MediaTech) and Vinay Shenoy (MD, Infineon Technologies).
According to a LightReading report, Ashok Chandak said, “The Indian ESDM sector has evolved over the years. With the manufacturing too taking shape, we foresee India playing a significant role in the global electronics sphere. This is an exciting phase for developing an indigenous Electronics and Semiconductor industry and I look forward to taking on this role and continuing IESA’s momentum in working with the government and other stakeholders to enable the industry ride the next wave of growth with Innovation Led Design and Design Led Manufacturing.”
