Ahead of the 5G rollout, IESA and Keysight Technologies recently created a platform to discuss the new technology and its challenges and opportunities
The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) partnered with Keysight Technologies to share insights about the 5G evolution in India. The two recently created a Thought Leadership Platform (TLF) to facilitate interactions between indigenous products, designs, solutions and user experiences both within Industry and the government.
Thought Leadership Forum
While speaking at the Thought Leadership Forum (TLF), Anil Kumar Muniswamy, Chairman, IESA, said that the association had been supportive of advancing and creating platforms for new technologies and would continue to help the industry and the government to boost the new 5G technology in India. He further added that the adoption of 5G would result in a whopping $ 1 trillion by 2030 and India could tap into the opportunity.
Keysight Technologies is eager to cater to the 5G revolution by developing and delivering rugged 5G test solutions, informed Sudhir Tangri, Country General Manager and Vice President, Keysight Technologies.
TLF witnessed industry experts coming together to discuss the 5G technology at length. It had spokespersons from MediaTek, Intel and Samsung, apart from other major technology giants. The Forum discussed the technical concepts, current states of 5G, its challenges and opportunities. 5G New Radio Motivation, Design, Deployment Options and Challenges, insights on wireless backhaul and spectrum and 5G used cases were also part of the discussion.
5G opening new ventures
Sandeep Kapoor, Head of Marketing, Keysight Technologies spoke about 5G yielding new opportunities in areas like autonomous driving, broadband fixed wireless, Internet of Things, and augmented reality. He also highlighted the firm’s role in providing5G technology test platforms.
The Thought Leadership Forum (TLF) discussed the advent of the new communication technology in the country across manufacturing, financial educational, healthcare, agricultural and social segments. 5G is expected to boost the reach and utility of the Digital India campaign by 2024. The India 5G Market Report for 2018-25 has projected a revenue generation of about $20 billion.
