Over 45 Top OEMs and Auto Tech Firms Display Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Technology.
The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) in Manesar, Gurugram, operating under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, hosted “THE ADAS SHOW 2023” on 7 December in partnership with Aayera, a global business information company. The event featured Dr Hanif Qureshi, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Heavy Industries, and Saurabh Dalela, Director of ICAT, as Guests of Honour.
The show saw participation from over 45 renowned OEMs, including BMW, MG, and HONDA, along with numerous auto tech companies, showcasing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology. This technology, a key focus in the automotive industry, is transforming safety, convenience, and driving experiences in India. Highlights included BMW’s ‘ADAS LIVE DEMO’, offering an interactive look at the latest ADAS technology. This live event provided attendees with hands-on experience of the technology in real driving scenarios, featuring contributions from automobile manufacturers, ADAS technology providers, and manufacturers of ADAS testing equipment. The track event was overseen by S Ramanathan, MD of Automotive Test Systems. In his speech, Qureshi emphasized the potential of ADAS technology to position India as a leader in the global automobile sector, urging OEMs to prioritize its development and implementation.
Saurabh Dalela remarked on the success of the event, noting the significant participation from leading auto companies and the opportunity to highlight the rapidly evolving automotive technology landscape. The event fostered an ecosystem supportive of innovation and growth in the Indian auto industry.
The one-day event included advanced technology displays, Expert Speaker Sessions, and Live Demonstrations at the ICAT centre. The “ADAS LIVE DEMO” at the ICAT testing track was a key feature, bringing together industry leaders to demonstrate the latest in ADAS technologies. Participants had the opportunity to engage in live demonstrations of various ADAS features, including automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assistance, showcasing the inventive, efficient, and precise nature of these technologies.
