Amit Kumar joins Apple India as its country sales manager for the enterprise and education business earlier this month, according to his Linkedln profile
Amit Kumar, IBM Corp’s director and head of cloud business in India and South Asia, has apparently joined iPhone maker Apple Inc.’s local unit.
Kumar joined Apple India as its country sales manager for the enterprise and education business earlier this month, and is posted at Apple’s Gurugram office, according to an update on his Linkedln profile.
At IBM, Kumar’s primary mission was to deliver value to customers across enterprise, startup and business partner community leveraging IBM’s cloud and software solutions, reads his Linkedln profile.
Prior to IBM, Kumar was with Microsoft Corp for over 13 years. From Jul 2016 – Sep 2017, he led Microsoft’s small and medium solutions and partners segment in India. For three years, he was director and country head of corporate accounts segments for India, leading sales, strategy and business execution.
Before being promoted to lead the corporate accounts segment, he worked as director of enterprise solution sales (more than 9 years), sales director of north and east India (over 4 years), and product manager (over 3 years).
Before joining Microsoft, Kumar had four-year stint at Tata Telecom as national marketing manager.
Apple reorganizes its India executive team
Just a few days ago, Apple appointed former Nokia executive Ashish Chowdhary as the new country head for its Indian operations responsible for managing sales. He will take charge in January, replacing expat Michel Coulomb who was given the responsibility to lead Apple India in December 2017.
Chowdhary was the chief customer operations officer at Nokia.
