In an interaction with Electronics Bazaar, Rajeev Chopra, CEO, iBahn illumination said that smart LED segment geared up seriously in India only a month back with Svarochi lights, the brand name of smart lighting solutions by iBahn. The company is aiming to making Svarochi smart LEDs available in offline stores across India in an year. To execute smoothly iBahn is rolling out their offerings in a phased manner. “We should be pan India in 12 months. In the first phase, starting from Mumbai we are launching our products 10 cities including Delhi, Pune, Kolkata and Chandigarh by November end. For phase II we will be targeting cities and towns with more than 1 million population.” said.

Talking on the market scenario Rajeev said that currently the overall market share of smart LED lights is negligible because the trend has just started in India. But he is very positive that the advent of smart LED lights is going to influence the retail sector of the country in a big way. “In 4 to 5 years from now, 30 percent of LEDs will convert into smart LEDs and about 10 years from now that conversion is going to be 100 percent. With our range of solutions, we are aiming to cover 10 percent of the Indian smart LED segment in one year.” he added.
At present iBahn has rolled out its products under 2 categories, viz ‘lamps’ and ‘downlighters’. These lights can be controlled through their app that will be available on Android and iOS.
