According to a report by the Economic Times, Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) said that it has has started working on the feasibility of launching a hydrogen fuel cell driven electric vehicle in India. The company had launched its first fuel cell vehicle Nexo in China and other developed markets in 2018.
As per the report, S S Kim, managing director, Hyundai Motor India said that the comapny has started feasibility study for the for fuel cell electric vehicle in India and promised to bring a solution with zero emission mobility. Earlier this year, Hyundai launched Kona, a long range electric vehicle in India. This EV can run more than 400 kilometres on a single charge as per the company.
Sell 670,000 electric vehicles annually
Hyundai has also announced the “Strategy 2025” through which it aims to sell 670,000 electric vehicles annually. The company said in a statement that the aim is to electrify most new models by 2030 in key markets like Korea, US, China, and Europe followed by emerging markets like India and Brazil by 2035.
