Huawei is betting huge on the 5G network with plans of launching budget 5G phones and delivering innovative solutions to address challenges
China-based telecom equipment maker Huawei has announced that it will introduce budget 5G smartphones in 2019 after the rollout of 5G. It also plans to launch 5G foldable phones for a performance-based user experience.
BG Ryan Ding, Executive Director and President of Carrier, Huawei, said that smartphone makers would launch their 5G phones soon after the deployment of the new network. The company has signed 22 commercial contracts for 5G and is working with more than 50 carriers on 5G commercial tests.
10-fold increase in connection
Huawei believes that the arrival of 5G in the Information and Communications can make a 10-fold increase in connection capabilities across the world. ET has quoted Ding saying, “5G will bring unprecedented opportunities to the mobile industry.”
He added that Release 15, the first 5G specifications, had laid emphasis on an enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) that would encourage individual users to consume more data. 5G is expected to provide high bandwidth for households and make WTTx connections the first choice for broadband.
Some of the world’s major countries have come forward to adopt and deploy 5G network services in their respective regions. Ding says that this shows that the countries, together, represent one-third of the global population and the adoption of 5G is larger than the previous 3G and 4G networks.
Huawei plans to deliver innovative solutions to address the 5G challenges with the support of the carriers.
