Huawei has invested around $23 million to set up an OpenLab in New Delhi to train engineers on new technologies and expects to grow by 60 per cent
China-based equipment manufacturer, Huawei is planning to maintain the current growth of 60 per cent in the enterprise segment in India. Derek Hao, President, Enterprise Business Group (EBG), Huawei India, said that the company’s growth stood at 60 per cent in the first and second quarters this year and the expectation was to maintain it in 2019.

Huawei India CEO Jay Chen has announced that the company has invested around $ 200 million to establish 20 OpenLabs across the world. It has invested around $23 million in setting up one such OpenLab in New Delhi and Thailand with the aim of training engineers on adopting the next generation technologies. The Huawei EBG president has informed that the lab in India will focus on training around 400 engineers and certify 200. He also shared about conducting about a 100 proof of concept annually with its partners.

The Chinese manufacturer has partnered with several technology experts such as TCS, Infosys and Tech Mahindra to co-host the training sessions for engineers in Delhi. The company views India’s initiatives like Digital India and promotion of faster adoption and implementation of technologies will aid in developing the country as well as its business organisations.
