Aiming for eco-friendly manufacturing of air conditioners and boosting revenue, Hisense and EPACK have joined forces to build a production facility in India.
Consumer electronics manufacturer Hisense has partnered with EPACK Durable Limited (EDL) to set up a production facility in Sricity, Andhra Pradesh, to primarily produce air conditioners for Indian markets.
As part of this alliance, EDL will invest in advanced production lines for various products, including washing machines and refrigerators, using Hisense’s proprietary design range. This will enhance asset utilisation while maintaining quality standards.
The initial production is set to begin in June 2025, with a target capacity of 1 million RACs by FY 2027-28. As stated by the company, the collaboration focuses on eco-friendly manufacturing practices and aims to explore export opportunities to key international markets. Furthermore, the cooperation is projected to generate approximately $1 billion in additional revenue for EPACK Durable over the next five years.
However, no financial information of this partnership was disclosed.
Ajay DD Singhania, Managing Director & CEO of EPACK Durable Limited, stated, “This opens new opportunities for growth in domestic and international markets. With our combined strengths, we are poised to redefine excellence in the home appliance industry.”
“This partnership will not only enhance our manufacturing capabilities but also allow us to focus on what we do best: creating outstanding products that resonate with Indian consumers,” noted Steven Li, the Managing Director of Hisense India.
Pankaj Rana, CEO of Hisense India, also expressed his excitement as Hisense’s technology merges EPACK’s manufacturing strengths as part of the company’s commitment to the country’s self-reliance goals of ‘Make-In-India.’
