Sunday, February 16, 2014: With increasing demand of energy and the emphasis on clean energy, the Hindustan Power Projects Pvt Ltd or the Moser Baer Projects, now aims to increase its overall generation capacity by over 5,000 MW, with investment of Rs 320 billion spread over three years.
The company will set up 1,000 MW solar energy production with an initiative sustain the environment. It’s current capacity from hydro and solar generation is less than 1,000 MW.
HPP’s solar hand, the Hindustan Cleanenergy, is planning to further its generation from 350 MW to 1000 MW by the fiscal 2016-17. The company has already invested Rs 55 Billion for the same.
India’s largest solar power development company will bring 100 MW of solar power in the next few months, of which half will be generated in Gujarat. HPP’s 30 MW Gunthawada plant is Asia’s largest solar power project.
The coal-based power plants of the company are having issues in acquisition of land and fuel linkages that is causing delays. The Coal India, a PSU is also reportedly finding it difficult to meet the country’s fuel requirements from domestic resources.
