A high-profile business delegation from Taiwan recently visited Tirupati city in Andhra Pradesh and they appeared to be impressed with the center’s plan to create an electronic manufacturing cluster (EMC) in the Sri City of Chittoor district, according to reports.
The team from Taiwan was led by Francis Tsa, chairman, India Economic and Trade Committee, Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufactures Association (TEEMA).
TEEMA member visited the city with an aim to explore the possibilities of investment. The delegation had a look on the infrastructure and analysed the business potential at the Sri City.
Sri City foundation president Ramesh Subramaniam welcomed the team that included TEEMA director and chairman and CEO of Mobiletron Electronics, Co Kim YC Tsai and Tyohm Electronic Works Co president, Samuel Kuo, who is also a director of association.
If reports are to be believed, Tsai found Sri City a ready mix of infrastructure, educational institutions, hospitals and logistics. Taiwan association wants to start operations in a short lead time.
Since a large number of manufacturers are keen to set up manufacturing units in India, the investments from these companies would contribute to PM led ‘Make In India’ initiative. The visit of TEEMA delegation seems to be very important for India’s electronic industry and this can boost electronics manufacturing as well.
