GEMPL will use Siemens’ NX for EV design and engineering and Teamcenter for product lifecycle management.
Greaves Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd (GEMPL) has adopted the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of software and services to design, and develop its electric two-wheeler and three-wheeler vehicles for the Indian market.
GEMPL will use Siemen’s product design and engineering software, Siemens’ NX, and Teamcenter software for product lifecycle management to develop products faster.
GEMPL believes that the software will streamline and accelerate the product development process with its integrated set of digital product engineering and collaboration capabilities. This will shorten the development time by utilizing digital twins and connecting people and processes across functions.
The technology will be incorporated throughout the engineering, program planning, mechanical, electrical, and software design management, bill of material management, process, and change management.
Siemens India’s vice president and managing director, Mathew Thomas expressed his delight at the news. “The Siemens Xcelerator portfolio will enable GEMPL to achieve a faster time-to-market for their electric two-wheelers (E2W) and three-wheelers (E3W) by supporting an agile product development process,” he said.
