The government on Monday promised to line up fresh incentives and sops to boost the manufacturing and exports of electronics in India and promised a new policy in the coming 2-3 months.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology called for a meeting with the industry to hear input and feedback from industry representatives, to understand the opportunities available and the conditions needed to achieve more manufacturing in India.

Electronic product manufacturers are strongly of the opinion that the government should develop policies and incentives to attract the world’s largest electronics manufacturing. Nearly 50 leading electronics and phone companies met with the government yesterday at a CEOs roundtable and raised this issue, including this issue, to promote the country’s industrial development.
In the meeting, IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad informed that India will offer electronics manufacturers the human resource, investor-friendly policies, and incentives for making in India and for exports.
