April 22, 2015: Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh recently stated that the government is working on to create helpful conditions for local manufacturers, both public and private, to play an operational role in the sphere of strategic electronics.
“We are aiming at expediting decision-making, as well as simplifying contractual and financial provisions, to establish a level playing field for the Indian companies to compete with foreign firms,” Singh said while addressing the ‘Keysight Aerospace and Defence Symposium’ in Delhi, reported Daijiworld.
“I believe there are huge opportunities for collaboration and creation of joint ventures in the defence electronics sector in India,” he added.
The minister also said that aviation industry giants are incisively observing the Indian market and exploring for working with and outsourcing to the Indian companies as India is speedily growing as a hub for engineering and design services.
“I believe the time is right for catapulting India into the league of technologically-advanced nations and I invite you all to respond to the call and move along with us on this cause of Make in India,” the minister stated as reported by the portal.
