Thanks to the partnership between the two companies, drivers can now filter charging stations according to the type of charger they need.
Statiq, an Indian EV charging network provider, recently announced its integration with Google Maps. This partnership aims to improve the EV driving experience in India by offering real-time updates on the availability of charging stations, thus reducing range anxiety and fostering increased adoption of electric vehicles across the nation.
As a result of this collaboration, Google Maps will now provide comprehensive details about Statiq’s charging stations, such as port types and real-time availability. Users can specifically filter for charging stations that match their charger type and verify if stations are accessible before setting off. This enhancement is anticipated to simplify the process of adopting electric vehicles, especially for individuals planning long drives or needing quick charging solutions.
Raghav Arora, Co-founder & CTO of Statiq, spoke about the partnership, emphasizing its significance in advancing their mission to enhance the accessibility and user-friendliness of EV charging across India. By incorporating their network into Google Maps, they aim to provide EV owners with essential information that is readily available, which helps lessen range anxiety and encourages a shift towards electric vehicles. Arora highlighted that this effort not only assists EV users but also contributes to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future for the country.
Statiq is also dedicated to significantly expanding its charging network, with plans to reach 20,000 chargers by the end of 2025, further supporting the widespread transition to electric vehicles in India.
