Looking to support future talent development in robotics and AI, GlobalLogic launched a STEM Lab in Bengaluru to equip 1,000 school students with practical learning, in line with NEP 2020.
GlobalLogic, a digital product engineering firm and a Hitachi subsidiary, has launched its STEM Lab at Bharatiya Vidyanikethan High School in Bengaluru. According to the company, the initiative is part of its ‘#EducateToEmpower’ programme, which aims to equip students with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills and prepare them for the evolving job market.
Focusing on hands-on learning, the new STEM Lab will allow students to work with robotics, coding, and artificial intelligence technologies. It will support around 1,000 students in grades 5 to 10, helping them to develop their critical thinking abilities.
It will also include training programmes for teachers to ensure they can guide students in exploring the technologies.
Moreover, the lab aims to become more engaging for students from underprivileged communities, connecting theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
The company emphasised that this project aligns with India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020), which stresses the integration of STEM subjects in school curricula to foster innovation and readiness for future careers.
Last week, the inauguration was attended by several dignitaries, including Madhusudan Murthy, Senior Vice President and Head of Engineering, and Monika Walia, APAC Head of CSR in GlobalLogic.
Murthy remarked on the company’s vision for future workforce development, stating, “Opening this STEM Lab reflects GlobalLogic’s dedication to empowering the next generation of innovators. By providing immersive experiences in leading-edge technologies, we are equipping students with the skills and confidence to succeed in a digitally transforming world.”
Monika Walia highlighted the company’s focus on equitable access to quality education as a driving force behind this initiative.
