Monday, August 19, 2013: The firm, Freescale Semiconductor Incorporation, a US based embedded hardware maker has appointed Satinder Sohi as the Director for its operations in India. The role of Sohi will involve leading Freescale’s Research and Development locations in NOIDA, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Prior to this, he served as New Product Introduction Program Manager for the microcontrollers group at Freescale at its headquarters in Austin, Texas.
“It has been a great journey at Freescale over the last 24 years and I am glad to be back in India,” Sohi, who joined Freescale in 1989, said in a statement on Friday. “This role is an excellent opportunity for me to lead and take the India business to new level,” he added, Live Mint reported.
The firm Freescale is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. It is involved in producing and designing microprocessors, microcontrollers, sensors and analog integrated circuits. Satinder Sohi has replaced Guruswamy Ganesh, who joined SanDisk Corporation in July this year as the Head of Design Operations at its India Design Centre in Bangalore. According to a spokesperson of the company, Ganesh served Freescale for 16 years.
“Satinder’s appointment reaffirms our legacy of commitment to India, which plays a strategic role in Freescale’s global operations and is a key market for us,” said Tom Deitrich, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Freescale’s Digital Networking Group, Live Mint reported.
