Taiwanese electronics manufacturer solidifies its position in the AI market, showcasing its commitment to innovation and diversification.
The Taiwanese tech giant Foxconn aims to establish new partnerships with Indian tech firms to manufacture AI servers in Tamil Nadu, India. With an expectation to strengthen its foothold in one of the world’s fastest-growing tech markets and grow its global market share for AI servers from 30% to 40%. This move aligns with Foxconn’s strategy to diversify its business beyond smartphone manufacture and reliance on China for production. The expansion also supports India’s ambition to become a global manufacturing hub, with Foxconn leveraging government incentives to boost local production.
AI servers are powerful computers used to train and run artificial intelligence models. At the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting in Taipei, Foxconn Chairman Young Liu highlighted that AI servers could soon become the company’s trillion-dollar product.
Additionally, Foxconn is actively engaged in discussions with Google to establish a Pixel smartphone manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu, India, and is also exploring the possibility of producing drones for Google Wings.
Foxconn has already built AI servers for major tech companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia. By manufacturing these products in India, the company takes advantage of government incentives to boost local production.
