Fortum India has extended free EV charging facility to all EV users in Hyderabad as a means to promote e-mobility.
Finnish clean energy company Fortum Oyj’s subsidiary Fortum India, has extended free charging facility to the users of electric vehicles in Hyderabad at all of its EV charging stations till October 31, reported Telangana Today.
Initially the free charging service, was offered till mid-August. It has now been extended with an aim to initiate more and more people to use electric vehicles.
EV charging outlets
The consumers can avail these services at six outlets across Hyderabad located at Rajbhavan Road, Begumpet, Uppal, Jubilee Hills, Attapur and Hydernagar areas. To avail the service, users need to download the Fortum Charge and Drive India App and register themselves.
Awadhesh Jha, VP, Charge & Drive & Sustainability, Fortum India in an interaction with Telangana Today informed that the organisation has extended the free charging facility, in order to familiarise more and more people with ease of charging an electric vehicle using digital platform.
He further opined that Fortum India has added four additional charging stations in Hyderabad which makes it to total six stations in Hyderabad. According to Jha this move will further accelerate the Indian Government’s mission to ensure that over 30 per cent of the vehicles on Indian roads are electric by 2030.
