The partnership will lead to the creation of the world’s most efficient motor, employing EVage’s Modular Miniature Manufacturing (Mcube) micro-factory.
DG Innovate, a UK-based advanced research and development company specializing in sustainable mobility and energy storage solutions, has announced a strategic joint venture with EVage Motors. This collaboration is designed to fast-track the commercial rollout of DG Innovate’s innovative Pareta electric drive system while strengthening EVage’s role as a fully integrated commercial electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer.
The joint venture, owned 60% by DGI and 40% by EVage, marks a major stride in penetrating the strategic Asian market and delivering more efficient electric trucks to fleet operators. By producing the Pareta electric drive system in Punjab, India, both firms are set to improve the accessibility of advanced technology in the Asian EV market, which is anticipated to result in more durable vehicles and lower costs for owners.
DGI contributes a wealth of industry knowledge to the venture, including a team of experts formerly with Tesla, enhancing the partnership’s capabilities. Pierre Pellerey, a seasoned motor design consultant for DGI and known for his work on prominent projects like Tesla Model 3 and Dyson’s V10 motor, joins the venture, bringing his extensive experience in motor development.
This partnership will facilitate the production of the most efficient motor in the world by leveraging EVage’s Modular Miniature Manufacturing (Mcube) micro-factory. The facility, already instrumental in supporting India’s first native commercial EV platform, is poised to increase the production of electric trucks, serving major fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), e-commerce, and logistics companies throughout India.
Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen, CEO of DGI, described this period as a pivotal moment for the company and expressed excitement about welcoming their new partners at EVage. He highlighted Asia, and particularly India, as a crucial market for the EV industry, noting that a strong manufacturing base there will allow for the rapid deployment of their products at competitive prices. He also expressed his delight in welcoming Pierre, whose exceptional skill in motor design significantly enhances the capability of their vehicles and strengthens their partnership with EVage.
Inderveer Singh, Founder & CEO of EVage, expressed enthusiasm about introducing advanced motor technology to India and creating valuable high-tech engineering positions. In partnership with DGI, EVage plans to produce top-tier products that support Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘make in India, make for the world.’ Singh also mentioned his pleasure in having pioneers like Peter, who see India as a land of opportunity in the EV sector, join this initiative.
