Tuesday, December 10, 2013: Eon Electric is planning to scale up the manufacturing capacity of its Haridwar plant. The plant that produces its signature product LED lamps will be ramped up to produce one million units per month by March 2015. This was shared by a company official.
V P Mahendru, chairman and managing director, Eon Electric told PTI, “At present, we manufacture 1,00,000 LED lamps in a month and we plan to take this number to 1 million by March 2015.” The company manufactures energy meters, lithium ion batteries, LED lamps etc.
Mahendru even said that they have started the process of enhancing the capacity of its Haridwar (Uttarakhand) unit. “We intend to spend close to Rs 2000 million for increasing the capacity, we have started sourcing the machines,” Mahendru said. He added, “Mostly the funds will come internally and less than 50 per cent will be debt, which we intend to take from SBI as we have a long association with the bank.”
The company has plans of exporting these products overseas. “Yes, we do intend to export mainly to the European and US markets,” Mahendru added.
