Entegris signed a supply deal with On Semiconductor, offering CMP solutions for silicon carbide, supporting growing industries like electric vehicles, renewable energy, and cloud computing.
Entegris, Inc., an US-based supplier of raw materials for the semiconductor and other high-technology industries, announced it has entered into a long-term supply agreement with On Semiconductor.
Under the agreement, Entegris will provide On semimconductor with a broad range of co-optimised chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) solutions for silicon carbide (SiC) applications.
While SiC offers critical advantages for manufacturing advanced semiconductors, it is a rigid material that is naturally dense and chemically inert, making it difficult to achieve the desired surface quality on the wafer.
With its complementary suite of CMP solutions, including slurries, pads, brushes, and post-CMP cleans, Entegris is a leader in CMP solutions enabling high-volume manufacture of SiC wafers.
Dann Woodland, President of Entegris’ Materials Solutions, emphasised the long-term potential of silicon carbide technologies and highlighted Entegris’ role in enhancing the manufacturing capabilities of its partners.
Entegris being a leading supplier of advanced materials and process solutions for the semiconductor and high-tech sectors has around 8,000 employees worldwide. It operates facilities in the US, Canada, China, Germany, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan. Entegris is also ISO 9001 certified, ensuring high-quality standards.
