Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA) is organising the upcoming seventh Strategic Electronics Summit (SES), which is scheduled to be held on July 7-8, at Bangalore International Exhibition Center (BIEC).

The event would be inaugurated by the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
The key focus areas will be Make in India Programme for defence industries, indigenisation, role of academia and electronic SME’s Clusters, strategic partners for defence and aerospace programmes.
ELCINA’s former President Subhash Goyal is of the opinion that interest for electronics in the Indian subcontinent was expected to accelerate to $400 billion by 2020 while the current electronics manufacturing growth rate in India can only procure to $100 billion.
ELCINA Secretary General Rajoo Goyal said the industry was tormented by lack of consistent power supply, high financial cost, poor logistics and infrastructure , which ELCINA aims to overpass by developing electronic manufacturing assemblies and amending policy problems.
The current and former dignitaries from the Ministry of Defence, Department of Electronics, DRDO, DEAL, HAL, BEL, C-DOT and IIT – Madras are the key personalities who will attend the event.
ELCINA Secretary Rajoo Goyal surmises that certain existing challenges needs to be addressed initially among which strengthening the base of the weak components manufacturing and encouraging targeted and ardent R&D plays a pivotal role.
