EFY Expo India 2015 Day I – Key Highlights

February 26, Thursday:expo Finally the day has arrived as the much-awaited 5th edition of EFY Expo India 2015 starts today with a bang. At the event, we are celebrating the success of ESDM industry and we will keep our main focus on the electronics ecosystem overall. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Celebrating Success of the ESDM Industry in India’.

Like previous editions, EFY Expo will focus exclusively on the electronics value chain like components, parts, materials, manufacturing services and equipment. It’s a mass gathering of exhibitors, innovators, designers, manufacturers and sellers from the entire electronics industry. So are you wondering what is so special about the Expo that you would be considering visiting the same? Let’s know the reasons then. If you are looking forward to sourcing electronics components, products and latest equipment, then this is the best platform to fulfill all your sourcing requirements. You will also get to know the latest trends in the global electronics industry as the event comprises participants from countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Germany and so on.

Now EFY Expo India 2015 is special for some more reasons as the 5th edition of the event holds some exciting initiatives like ELCINA Buyer-Seller Zone, Test & Measurement India, The Innovation Zone etc. ELCINA Buyer-Seller Zone will let buyers meet new vendors with vendor-development initiatives. This platform is open on 26 and 27 February and may extend to 28 February too. One of the new initiatives of this year is the Test & Measurement Showcase which will demonstrate the latest T&M equipment to the industry.

At the Innovation Zone, innovators from across India will showcase their latest innovations. This zone is an attraction for design engineers and senior decision makers at OEM firms. The four co-located shows of the Expo at Pragati Maidan are CoilWound Components Asia 2015, Display Components Asia, PCB Asia 2015 and T&M India. Other co-located shows include ACMA Automechanika for the automotive industry and CII’s International Engineering and Technology Fair.

This seminar is aimed at creating a powerful LED lighting ecosystem for both manufacturers and vendors in the industry.

  • Automotive Electronics Vendor Development Seminar

This seminar aims to create a stronger automotive electronics ecosystem for both manufacturers and vendors.

* ‘Make in India’ needs to be taken seriously as far as localisation of manufacturing is concerned in the industry.

* Emerson believes in VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainity, Complexity, Amniguity) – all pertaining to demand and the market

* It’s because of the mindset that companies will still continue importing even if the costs of local products are at par.

* 35 new suppliers have been added in last 18 months.

* Emerson’s revenues are expected to grow by 20 per cent. Target of Rs 22000 million has been set for 2016.

* For any supply chain, the biggest thing is the quality house. It starts from the market research and ends at the customer service provided.

* We need to understand the market need. Need to focus on every buyer right from the smallest to the biggest.

* “We need to dance to the customers’ tunes”

* We need to make the pricing such that we can include good quality after sales service provided to the customers.

* Very small quantity of PCBs are coming from local manufacturers but SMEs are great support.

* Reliability of Indian manufacturers has improved lately.

* Government wanting to support local manufacturers is not that simple. We need to change our mindset. We need to stop importing and give local manufacturers a chance.

* NTL is making a conscious effort in this. Wherever we can, we are shifting from China to India.

* Expensive raw materials are increasing the cost of manufacturing in India.

* At NTL, we consider all suppliers as our supply chain partners. They are the backbone of our company.

* At NTL, we have a supplier development cell where we groom the suppliers.

* The suppliers need to tune themselves to the market.

* Supplier chain partner should have a good R&D too
