Tuesday, November 25, 2014: ECIL, Electronics Corporation ofI ndia, got an export order from Toshiba Corporation, Japan, for supply of 8.5m S Band Antenna and 4.2m C Band Antenna worth $ 300,000. The Antenna Systems is a part of Weather Monitoring Radars and will be included within the Japan based Toshiba’s Transmitter, Receiver and Radar Processor.
This system will enable accurate weather prediction and further would enhance the state-of-art technology products to meet international standards. The purchase order was exchanged between the Group Manager, Toshihide Banba of Toshiba Corporation and P Sudhakar, Chairman & Managing Director, ECIL.
Two of them have also inked an agreement to address the domestic and international market for Doppler Weather Radars by providing an eco-friendly system with technically superior, highly reliable solutions to reduce the operating costs.
Prior to this ECIL along with Toshiba had received an order from Indian Meteorological Department to supply Solid State Doppler Weather Radar. This Radar will go in operations from Jan, 2015 in Srinagar to enable the accurate prediction of weather and thereby also allowing the civilian authorities to take precautionary measures in case of any natural calamities.
