Power management company Eaton has opened its first aerospace manufacturing facility in India at Bengaluru. This facility will produce hose assemblies, fluid distribution products like oil debris monitoring systems to cater to commercial, business and regional aircraft. Eaton has invested $10 million in the facility and plans to have a workforce of around 100 people in the first phase.
Nanda Kumar, president, Aerospace Group, Eaton said that the investment that company has made in Bengaluru will be an important part of the company’s growth strategy in the aerospace domain. He also added that this investment would help the company grow its original equipment business as customers are investing heavily in India in this domain. The facility will also help in local growth through employment, business and sourcing opportunities he added.
27 aerospace manufacturing locations globally
The facility was built in a 10-month period at the 2.85 acres of land at the Karnataka Aerospace special economic zone (SEZ). Eaton has 27 aerospace manufacturing locations around the world which includes a joint venture in China. It has a design centre in Pune that employs around 1,000 people.
