Dell is focusing on retaining its position in India’s server markets while exploring the smart segments to boost growth in the country
Dell EMC has announced about its plans to expand its business in the smart manufacturing and energy sectors in India. The company’s new business wings will be its focus to grow in the country and to kickstart the work, it has collaborated with system integrators and application providers. It is reportedly working on several projects along with the government.
Focus is on new-age technologies
KC Choi, senior vice president, Global Enterprise Systems Engineering, Dell EMC, said that combining the new-age technologies with the existing ones would help boost growth. He informed that Dell was exploring the internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence, deep learning and real-time processes. “We will also continue to focus on mobility, hybrid and multi-cloud applications and offer end-to-end solutions”, the VP was quoted by ET.
Dell’s business strategy for India was that it would try retaining its position in the country’s server markets while exploring AI, blockchain and analytics.
Smart city projects
The cloud services provider’s focus is on the smart city projects of the government of India. It is banking on these projects for the Internet of things (IoT) growth in the country. Earlier, in August, it said that fresh requests for proposals (RFPs) are coming in for smart city and energy projects.
Dell is currently working with telecom companies in the 4G services. It has also joined with the State Bank of India (SBI) to digitally consolidate 25,000 branches by its data centres.
Globally, Dell EMC reported a revenue of 34 per cent rise with $5.1 billion in the second quarter of the current fiscal.
