Wednesday, August 21, 2013: The duty free retail operator, Delhi Duty Free has come up with its first electronics retail units in Arrivals at Indira Gandhi International Airport. It is spread across 900sq ft. The company has launched its seventh product category at Delhi Airport, the other ones are liquor, tobacco, beauty, confectionery, fashion and destination items.
You can avail product such as LED televisions, TV accessories, cameras, computer, audio and mobile phone accessories. Products such as mobile phones and tablets are due to be added this year. Brands in each product category comprise Samsung, Sony and Philips in televisions; Hama in TV accessories; Canon, Nikon and Panasonic in cameras; Braun, Remington and Russell Hobbs in personal accessories; SanDisk and Verbatim in computer accessories; JBL and Gear 4 in audio accessories and Ferrari in mobile accessories.
Purchase of selected items entail an additional five per cent off and customers can even win gifts. Customers can win a television set while the promotional period is going on till 31 August. “The initiative is to ensure that Indian travellers buy their favourite electronic products on their way back from their international trips, and do not have to worry about carrying them back from another country. The duty free prices of the electronic products will be up to 15 per cent cheaper compared to the domestic market,” The Moodie Report quoted the retailer.
