Wednesday, September 24, 2014: Hosted by India Electronics and Semiconductor Association, Deftronics 2014, is starting today in Bangalore, India. Deftronics 2014 is an international industry conference and exhibition. The main focus of the event is “Indian Electronic System Design and Manufacturing Ecosystem in Defense, Aerospace and Internal Security”.
Leading organisations like Airbus, Boeing, MOOG, Rolls Royce, BrahMos, Tata Power SED, Larsen & Toubro, Bharat Electronics, HAL along with several other Indian and global companies are attending the conference. As per a report, the recent solgan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “Make in India”, has convinced the private sector too, to participate at the event, in order to motivate aerospace and defence sectors in India.
IESA chairman Ashok Chandak, BrahMos Aerospace founder Sivathanu Pillai, MOOG MD Dave Ranson and Rambus MD Krishnamoorthy Krishnan have reportedly talked to the media on the event. PM Modi has taken a noble step by spreading his message that India should be self-sufficient in electronics manufacturing and invited the entire world to “Come, Make in India”. It seems, his slogan has reached the major names across the globe, and his successful journey to boost the electronics manufacturing sector in India, has already started with this gala event, Deftronics 2014.
