The 12th edition of this flagship defence expo is taking place in Gandhinagar
At India’s flagship defence exhibition, DefExpo-2022, Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU) Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Triton Electric Vehicle (TEV). As per the deal, the Navratna DPSU will manufacture Hydrogen Fuel cells with technology transfer from the US-based TEV. This agreement will help the partners to tap both the Indian market and mutually agreed export markets.
The official statement said that the MoU aims at tapping the demand for clean energy solutions for various applications including for E-Mobility, by leveraging GoI’s thrust for the adoption of clean energy fuels for applications in transport, energy storage etc.
New Jersey-headquartered Triton Electric Vehicle LLC is a young and leading EV company. It has recently set up its R&D centre and manufacturing facility in India. The company is entering the domain of Hydrogen-run Two-Wheelers, Three-Wheelers and Bus manufacturing.
Bengaluru-based BEL is a Navratna DPSU under the Indian Defence Ministry. It was established way back in 1954, to meet the needs of the Indian defence services for electronics equipment, systems and services. With an already strong presence in Radar and Fire Control Systems, Weapon Systems and Communication, BEL has further diversified into Arms & Ammunitions, Medical Electronics, Networks & Cyber Security, Seekers & Missiles, Unmanned Systems, Space Electronics, Railway/Metro, and Civil Aviation etc to address the emerging opportunities.
DefExpo-2022 is the 12th edition of India’s flagship defence exhibition, which is scheduled for 18th-22nd October 2022 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. All the Indian companies and Indian subsidiaries of foreign OEM/divisions of companies registered in India, along with the exhibitors having a JV with an Indian company will be considered as Indian participants at the event.
