Aiming to expand fleet operations across South India, Refex Green Mobility signed an MoU with Citroen for 500 e-C3 cars.
On Wednesday, French automaker Citroen signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Refex Green Mobility Ltd, a subsidiary of the Refex Group, to supply 500 Citroen e-C3 electric vehicles.
This order, claimed to be the largest for Refex in Southern India, representing a step forward in the partnership. Refex eVeelz, the green mobility division of the Refex Group, established in March 2023, was an early adopter of Citroen’s EV technology.
As per Citroen, the company expects to make a substantial impact as it expands its operations throughout India through this MoU. No financial details were disclosed by the companies, however.
Shishir Mishra, Brand Director at Citroen India, noted that the partnership with Refex highlights Citroën’s commitment to customers, product reliability, and sustainability. He mentioned that the Citroen e-C3, with its efficient battery, advanced e-powertrain, and connectivity features, is a top choice for businesses embracing green mobility.
The Citroen eC3 features a 29.2kWh battery and a front motor with 56bhp and 143Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 60km/h in 6.8 seconds and reaching 107km/h. Certified by ARAI, it offers a 320km range, Eco and Standard modes, regenerative braking, and fast-charging technology that takes under 60 minutes for a near-full charge.
Yash Jain, Director of Refex Green Mobility, highlighted that partnering with Citroen will cut emissions and support carbon-neutral goals. He praised the Citroen e-C3 EVs for their reliability and service when they were adopted in early 2023. He further stressed that the collaboration would enhance sustainable urban mobility.
