Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad met US networking giant Cisco’s CEO Chuck Robbins, with discussions ranging from electronics manufacturing to digital health and education, reported PTI citing source.
Government sources privy to the development said to PTI that during the meeting which lasted for over 30 minutes, Cisco held wide-ranging discussions on electronics manufacturing and expanding India footprint.
The source also informed that the minister has asked Cisco to participate in creation of digital villages and also pick up areas like digital health and e-education to create innovative models in some villages. The Cisco CEO also lauded the government’s digital India programme, the source added.
