Energy storage manufacturing companyCATL has teamed up with Shenzhen KSTAR Science & Technology to build a new lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility Fujian, China. This facility is being developed with an overall investment of $150 million. It is expected to have an initial output of 1GWh and manufacture both lithium-ion battery packs and integrated products targeted at the solar-plus-storage sector.

The Energy Storage Manufacturing project of KSTAR and CATL will have two factories in the north and south of Xiapu Economic Development Zone, with an area of 20.69 hectares. It will have two production lines for energy storage Power Conversion System (PCS) equipment. there will also be two production lines for charging piles which will be built in accordance with the national industrial policy. It will also have one production line of energy storage Pack.
In February, CATL said that it aimed to raise up to 20 billion yuan ($2.85 billion) in a private placement of shares. It will use this investment to fund its battery projects and increase working capital. CATL has partnerships with Tesla, Volkswagen, and BMW.
