Boeing invites students, start-ups, and investors to join its University Innovation Program, offering networking opportunities and potential funding to advance aerospace and tech innovations.
Boeing has announced applications for the fourth edition of its BUILD program, aimed at university graduates and early-stage startup entrepreneurs. This year’s program, which supports aerospace, defence, technology, social impact, and sustainability innovation, features an enhanced networking component.
Notably, 40 angel investors and venture capitalists will review startup ideas from past BUILD winners, providing valuable exposure and potential investment opportunities.
The BUILD program partners with seven primary Indian incubators: IIT Mumbai’s Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, IIT Delhi’s Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer, IIT Gandhinagar’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, IIT Madras Incubation Cell, IISC Bengaluru’s Society for Innovation and Development, T-Hub Hyderabad, and KIIT Bhubaneshwar’s Technology Business Incubator.
Chris Raymond, Executive Vice President and CEO of Boeing Global Services, underscored India’s vibrant startup ecosystem and the BUILD program’s role in supporting India’s growth as a global innovation hub.
G. Satheesh Reddy, President of the Aeronautical Society of India, lauded the program for its significant contribution to the advancement of the aerospace and defence sectors by harnessing India’s innovative young talent.
Applications are open until October 15, 2024. Following the application period, candidates will be shortlisted for regional boot camps.
Finalists will pitch their ideas during Boeing Immersion Day and the BUILD finals in January 2025, competing for grants of each. Throughout the process, Boeing mentors and industry experts will provide invaluable guidance and support, helping finalists refine their business ideas and prepare for their pitches.
