In his three-decades-long career, Mr Manoj Jain has served tremendously in the R&D sector
Recently, Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) appointed Mr Manoj Jain as the Director of its Research & Development (R&D) arm. Before this promotion, Mr Jain served as the General Manager of the Electronic Warfare & Avionics SBU at BEL’s Bangalore Complex, where he rendered his much-needed vision.
A Gold medallist electronics engineer from REC Jaipur (MNIT), Mr Jain joined BEL as a Probationary Engineer in 1991. Mr Jain played a crucial role in the development of Digital Multiplexers, Cross Connects, CDOT Exchanges and Military Switches. At BEL’s Central Research Laboratory in Bangalore, he developed technologies for Defence Networks and Network & Bulk Security Solutions. In the field of Radar, Mr Jain assisted in the development of VeXT, Scan Converter and Display using FPGA.
His two-year stint as General Manager of BEL’s Product Development & Innovation Centre (PD&IC) from mid-2019 onwards was hugely successful, as PD&IC developed many new products/sub-systems required for BEL. It not only ensured innovation and value addition but also led to self-reliance in the sector. Before that, he was the Chief Scientist of CRL-Bangalore for over a year (Dec 2017 to May 2019).
In his three-decade-long professional journey, he has served tremendously in the R&D sector. Apart from publishing technical papers and delivering talks to Defence users and DRDOs, Mr Jain has applied for several patents. It is noteworthy that he has received various R&D awards, Key Contributor Awards, Raksha Mantri’s Award and SODET Awards.
