The upgraded Chetak Premium from Bajaj is expected further to widen the distinction between the Urbane and Premium models.
Bajaj is set to unveil an enhanced version of the Chetak Premium on January 5th, featuring more sophisticated attributes, such as a new TFT display, elevating the e-scooter’s appeal. The existing Chetak lineup comprises the Urbane and Premium variants, which are notably similar in design and features. However, the forthcoming upgrade to the Chetak Premium is anticipated to significantly differentiate it from its Urbane counterpart. The Chetak Urbane will continue to serve as the more economical and basic model, whereas the revamped Chetak Premium will emerge as a pricier, feature-packed alternative.
Bajaj has utilized social media platforms to announce the launch, which is scheduled for 1 pm on January 5. The company has also released teaser images, providing glimpses of the scooter, especially highlighting the new TFT screen. This screen indicates the addition of Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation to the scooter’s capabilities. It’s highly probable that the updated model will retain its existing riding modes.
The teaser images further reveal that the overall design of the scooter remains largely in line with the current Chetak Premium model, maintaining its distinctive single-sided front suspension, stylish alloy wheels, and sleek, rounded contours. The design elements like the seat, lighting, floorboard, and apron storage space also appear unchanged.
What remains uncertain is whether there will be any updates to the powertrain and battery pack. The current Chetak Premium model boasts a 2.9kWh battery pack, claiming a range of 108km. It’s plausible that similar to the recent updates seen in the Chetak Urbane, the range may increase to around 113km due to software enhancements.
