Creating 200 jobs and empowering 10,000 locals in Bihar, AVPL International is set to invest Rs 150 million in an advanced drone manufacturing facility for diverse industries and agriculture.
AVPL International, a provider of drone technology and skill development based in Gurugram, has announced plans to set up a drone manufacturing hub in Bihar, with an investment of Rs 150 million. With this, the company aims to create 200 direct job opportunities at the facility, while also generating employment for approximately 10,000 local youth through various related roles.
According to the company, the manufacturing hub will cover an area of 16,000 square feet. Once operational, it is expected to produce up to 24,000 drones annually. The hub will cater to a variety of sectors, including agriculture, offering drones designed for different applications such as crop monitoring, precision farming, and surveillance.
This initiative is supported by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), with the goal of promoting local manufacturing and creating sustainable jobs in the region.
According to Preet Sandhu, founder and managing director of AVPL International, the facility will not only focus on production but will also empower local communities.
The company envisions the project as a means to build local capacity and encourage drone entrepreneurship, fostering a new generation of skilled professionals in the drone industry. This project, according to AVPL, represents a significant step in advancing India’s drone ecosystem.
