Avaada Group has recently shared its plans to invest Rs 40,000 crore to develop 6,000 MW hybrid wind-solar projects in Gujarat.
The contract was signed between Avaada Group and the Gujarat government during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.
The agenda behind this partnership is to set up hybrid wind-solar projects with an aggregate 6,000 MW (6 GW) capacity in the state with an investment of about Rs 40,000 crore.
The group’s strong dedication to environmentally friendly initiatives in Gujarat is evident through significant investments in establishing a resilient renewable energy infrastructure.
These hybrid initiatives, situated in several Gujarat districts, particularly in the underdeveloped areas of Kutch, will provide electricity to various Indian utilities such as GUVNL (Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd) and support Avaada’s green hydrogen/ammonia projects for their internal use. These endeavours will markedly decrease carbon emissions and reliance on traditional power supplies.
Vineet Mittal, Chairperson of Avaada Group, highlighted the global urgency for sustainable energy solutions. “Renewable energy, along with green hydrogen and its derivatives, is emerging as a key alternative to fossil fuels,” he said, emphasising Gujarat’s potential in this sector due to its natural resources and geographical advantages.
