Thursday, October 10, 2013: Here comes an exciting news for engineers based in North India. ARM, which is the global semiconductor IP giant, has reportedly opened an all new Design Center in Noida. This center will focus on IP design specially focusing on areas such as bulk and FinFET CMOS technologies. It will cater to the expanding need of ARM partners.
This new design center will focus on developing building blocks for translation of a circuit design into actual silicon.
This new facility will work in sync with the existing team of the company at the Bengaluru Design Center, which also focuses on Physical IP. Data suggests that almost 9 billion ARM-based chips were shipped in 2012. Further, ARM-based technology is used in 95 per cent smartphones, 80 per cent of digital cameras, and 35 per cent of all electronic devices worldwide, reports Information Week.
As of date, ARM has a total of 2,700 staff and this will only add to the growing numbers.
