Despite leaks about its electric vehicle plans over the years, Apple never officially confirmed them, and recent reports suggest the company has now shelved the EV project after a decade of struggling.
The company has reassigned employees from its disbanded car division to work on projects related to generative artificial intelligence. The robot initiative is being managed by Apple’s hardware engineering division in conjunction with its AI and machine learning group, the report added.
Analysts are eager to learn more about Apple’s AI efforts at the upcoming WWDC developers conference in June, where the company typically unveils its latest innovations. Meanwhile, other major tech companies worldwide, such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon, are aggressively pursuing AI development and deployment.
