The Andhra Pradesh government is all set to announce a new policy within 15 days to establish a beneficial ecosystem for drones and other emerging technologies.
At the Amaravati Drone Summit 2024, the Andhra Pradesh government hosted the nation’s biggest drone show. During the summit, the chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, told the media that to boost the sector’s growth, the state government has decided to provide 300 acres of land at Orvakallu in Kurnool District.
After greeting the participants, the CM also said that the state cabinet after consulting with all the industry stakeholders, will announce a new policy to establish a beneficial ecosystem for drones and other emerging technologies in the state. In an further effort to bolster drone manufacturing ecosystem, the government has announced to train 35,000 drone pilots and also developing indigenously grown, cost-effective drone applications.
The Punnami ghat in the state witnessed 5,500 drones flying above the sky, showcasing numerous formations, including formations of Lord Buddha, an aeroplane, and the national flag.
The two-day show grabbed five Guinness World Records under the categories of Largest Planet Formation, Largest Landmark Creation, Largest Plane Formation, Largest Flag Display, and Aerial Logo Display. The drone show also featured a hackathon, exhibitions, and panel discussions on the transformative potential of drones in agriculture, infrastructure, and disaster management.

This is a technology that can be leveraged for the greater good, and for serving people. I’m delighted that the summit brought together many stakeholders on one platform – creating a vibrant space for ideas to flourish, and taking a step forward in positioning AP as a leader in drone tech.”
