May 21, 2015: A place near Kadiri in the Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh will soon get a 50MW solar power plant. The project is being undertaken by National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC Ltd), who has further given the responsibility of setting up the plant to Sterling and Wilson. Having ample amount of experience behind them, Sterling and Wilson’s scope of work in this project would vary across departments including design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the grid connecting 50MW solar PV project on a turnkey basis.
Complying to the spirit of PM Modi’s ‘Make in India’ campaign, Sterling and Wilson has announced the use of domestic cells and modules, thereby giving a scope of growth to the cells and modules industry in India. The company has claimed to complete the project in a period of one year from the time of commencement. In addition, Sterling and Wilson has also been given the contract of carrying out the operation and maintenance of the solar power plant for a period of five years.
