Ananant Systems collaborated with major telecom equipment manufacturers to develop chips for the forthcoming 5G network of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL).
The Bengaluru-based company aims to cater to the growing prerequisites for cutting-edge network, processing, and security for remote 5G and 6G infrastructure, and devices. It offers intellectual property (IP), chip plans, semiconductor items, programming, and frameworks, all created and owned in India.
Chitranjan Singh, CEO of Ananant Systems, describes their innovative architecture as capable of reducing costs and power consumption to one-third and power consumption to one-third compared to competitors, while also being AI-ready for advanced 5G and 6G. Singh explains that the company will provide chips with physical layer algorithms and softwares to partners like BSNL, facilitating system integration.
Singh emphasizes that the transition to high-level 5G and 6G will only require software, without the need for equipment changes. He states that the company is currently focused on infrastructure development, particularly on base stations in the first year. In subsequent years, they plan to expand into devices, such as smart meters for 4G and 5G handsets, using their designed chip.
He also underscores the importance of aligning with local partners, including their recent membership in the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA).
This alignment aims to build a strong connection in India, supporting everything from wireless IP development to design to silicon manufacturing to end-system design, integration and manufacturing.
