Altigreen, an electric vehicle manufacturer in India, introduced its new 3-wheeler, neEV Tez, in New Delhi. This vehicle features a unique 3-in-one charging system, allowing users to select from normal, fast, and rapid charging. Specifically, the neEV Tez can be fully charged using Exponent’s e^pump rapid charging network, in just 1 hour at a Bharat DCOO1 charging station, or in 3.5 hours using a standard 220V/16 A AC Socket. A 5-year warranty backs the vehicle.
The launch event saw participation from key figures, including Mr Debashis Mitra, Director of Sales, Service and Marketing at Altigreen; Mr Arun Vinayak, CEO of Exponent Energy; and Mr Maxson Lewis, Founder & Managing Director of Magenta Mobility.
Mr. Mitra highlighted the vehicle’s advanced rapid charging capabilities, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize last-mile delivery. He pointed out that while other market offerings typically require 4-6 hours for charging, Altigreen’s neEV Tez offers three distinct charging options. This flexibility is expected to enhance vehicle utilization and profitability for owners. The vehicle’s introduction is timely, given that over half of L5 Cargo in Delhi is now electrified, compared to roughly 24% across India. The neEV Tez also supports the GB/T port, aligning with Delhi’s growing DC charging infrastructure.
During the launch, Magenta Mobility, a key partner and customer of Altigreen, received 200 neEV Tez vehicles. Mr Lewis from Magenta Mobility expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing their shared vision for sustainable transportation in India.
The vehicle’s battery boasts a 3000-cycle life warranty with rapid charging, significantly improving over the industry average of around 1000 cycles. This allows operators to use the vehicle for two shifts, potentially optimizing productivity.
Mr Vinayak of Exponent Energy discussed commercial EVs’ challenges, such as long charging times and network reliability. He believes combining neEV Tez and the e^pump rapid charging network will alleviate these concerns, offering logistics operators greater flexibility and efficiency.
Lastly, Mr. Rajiv Kumar from SIDBI expressed their commitment to electrification and highlighted the importance of collaborations like the one between Magenta and Altigreen in achieving this goal.
