April 17, 2015: Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, on his day-two at Hannover Messe fair in Germany, met CEOs of manufacturing and IT companies. He took further the cause of new and renewable energy at the fair. He also visited the Digital India pavilion and the hall installed for solar photovoltaic manufacturing firms.
The CM stated with power demand rising at an average rate of 12 per cent, the Uttar Pradesh government recently implemented a solar policy and is getting ready for the increase demand for power supply. Currently, the state produces 10,000MW power, which is planned to be taken up to 13,000MW. Yadav stated the that the state government has made a provision of Rs 290 billion for developing the clean energy sector.
Speaking about the state government’s rooftop solar photo-voltaic power plant policy-2014, Yadav said individuals can now install roof-top solar power plants.
