The global electronics industry is moving from simple mass production, technology-oriented development mode to multi-integrations of innovative applications and customized manufacturing and services. According to the latest forecast by Gartner, worldwide IT spending is projected to total $3.8 trillion in 2019, an increase of 3.2 percent from expected spending of $3.7 trillion in 2018. IT spending is moving from saturated segments such as mobile phones, PCs and on-premises data center infrastructure to cloud services and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
With the constant adjustment of industrial structure and adding more innovation, the 45th edition of TAITRONICS and the 2nd edition of AIoT Taiwan will be a major display and networking platform for electronic products, system integrators (SI) and global startups. Moreover, by focusing on cross-industry cooperation and tight integration with hardware and software, the exhibitions will play a significant role in assisting transforming Taiwan’s electronics industry to a new era of intelligent electronic and diverse application solutions!

Taiwan is the engine of the world’s electronics industry. According to the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association’s statistic data, in 2018, the export of Taiwan’s ICT and electronics industry amounted to $158.1 billion, accounting for more than 30% of Taiwan’s total export. Affected by the decline in sales of the mobile phone market, the growth of global shipping of electronic terminal products will slow down. However, cloud services continue to rise as well as demand for foundry and server products.
The output value of Taiwan’s ICT industry is expected to reach $216.2 billion in 2019, an increase of 2.2%, according to a prediction by the Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center (IEK) under the government-sponsored Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). It is clear that Taiwan is striving for the innovative and highly sophisticated electronics industry and continues to grasp on this advantage. With the vast opportunities ahead, TAITRONICS 2019 will connect Taiwan’s electronics industry and expand into international markets, leading manufacturers to develop business opportunities worldwide.
AIoT Taiwan – Creating the future, rewriting the past
Taiwan acts as a global hub for electronics design and manufacturing with the arrival of 5G, big data analytics, high-performance computing (HPC) and supercomputer. AI ecosystem continues to expand and evolve while IoT devices proliferate. The two transformative technologies converge to form AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) or also referred to as the next generation of IoT.
Because Taiwan offers world-class talent along with the world’s top hardware manufacturing capacity, the country attracts global tech giants such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) to set up the first IoT Lab in Taiwan. This partnership is set to create a comprehensive ecosystem of startup innovation, which will help pioneer the shift from traditional industries into digital markets in Taiwan.
AIoT Taiwan 2019 will focus on AIoT applications and solutions and “Startups (companies established in or after 2014)” to demonstrate the transformation of Taiwan IC industry into IoT era.
