Adani Solar collaborated with Almiya Group to install a 225 MW solar plant and establish a Coimbatore warehouse. This initiative aims to expand business opportunities, reduce carbon emissions, and promote sustainability.
Given the rising temperatures and the Kerala government aims to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2040 and carbon neutrality by 2025, Almiya Group in Kochi is considering a partnership with Adani Solar by signing a memorandum of understanding(MoU).
One of the major highlights of this expansion is installing a large-scale 225 MW solar power plant in Pirapur within the next year. This project is expected to significantly increase Kerala’s renewable energy capacity, which aligns with local and national sustainability goals.
In addition to this 225 MW installation of the solar power plant, Adani Solar has also established a dedicated warehouse in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. This strategic alliance aims to scale up logistics and ensure faster delivery of solar panels and components in Kerala and neighboring Tamil Nadu.
The benefits of Adani Solar’s expansion are beyond renewable energy; the project, using solar power, will contribute to reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change to align global sustainability.
Additionally, this expansion is expected to create many job opportunities. Ranging from project development and installation to maintenance and logistics, it will boost the local economy and support community development initiatives.
Through innovative technology and strategic partnership, the company aims to make solar energy more affordable and accessible to businesses and homes.
Cecil Augustine, the National Sales Head of Adani Solar, stated at a press conference that they were expanding their business in Kerala. In 2023, it established solar panels for 70 MW. He also asserted that the solar panels entirely manufactured in India, were of superior quality compared to others in the Asian market and boosted a much higher production capacity.
Almiya Group has been involved with Adani Solar for several years and was also a part of the 45 MW plant in Tamil Nadu. Adani Solar enjoys a 50 percent market share in the residential solar panel market in India. Kerala has huge potential in the market, and the units available are economically feasible and sustainable. The company will also offer a 30-year warranty, which could bring down electricity bills to near zero.
Additionally, Adani Group is also developing the implementation of solar energy solutions at the Vizhinjam international Sea Port. This move underscores Adani Group’s commitment to utilising renewable energy across its infrastructure projects.
