Every year, the ELCINA-EFY Awards are given to recognise extraordinary achievements in the field of exports, R&D, quality, environment management, business excellence and entrepreneurial excellence.

This year’s ‘Electronics Man of the Year’ award went to Sanjay Nayak, CEO and managing director, Tejas Networks Ltd, Bengaluru, for his pioneering work in turning Tejas Networks into a high technology telecommunications company with a difference. Under his leadership, Tejas has been recognised in India as well as globally, as a leading technology company.

SFO Technologies received the first prize for ‘Excellence in Exports’ and in ‘R&D’. Bharat Electronics also garnered two second prizes for ‘Business Excellence’ and for ‘Exports Excellence’. The first prize and certificate of merit for ‘Business Excellence’ went to Astra Microwave and Jabil Circuit India, respectively. Nokia Siemens, AT&S India and Radiall India were honoured with the first prize, second prize and certificate of merit, respectively, for ‘Environment Management’. Vishay Components, Teknic Electromeconics, Nokia Seimens, and Conformity India were recognised for ‘Quality’.

Shyam Jaising, director, Teknic Electromeconics, while thanking the organisers of the ELCINA-EFY Awards, said, “The award we have received goes for the whole team of Teknic, who have worked hard with dedication and discipline. However, our best award is our customers’ trust in the quality of our products. It is our customers’ goodwill and our sincerity towards them that has helped us reach this level.”

A delighted JK Dhawan, general manager of Conformity India, said, “We are proud and happy to be honoured with the award of excellence in ‘Quality’. Our company’s quality inspection is the reason behind the perfection in our products. And the ELCINA-EFY Awards has encouraged and motivated us to work harder by recognising our efforts.”
